Try leaving the cap to the overflow reservoir a little loose to see if that stops the overflowing, or test the coolant for exhaust (I think you can buy a test kit at an auto or truck parts store).

 
Noticed a leak. We took the front end of the car off to see where the leak was. Only to find that it was only coming from the overflow Coolant tank. Checked the spark plugs, compression test, and then finally started lookin around the radiator cap. The one on the top of the pic, is the old radiator cap. Which has lost the middle..
