If you have a roundabout with capacity to have 4 full length trains then it increases the throughput. A roundabout is very efficient for cars in the real world. In Factorio it gives worse throughput than a well-designed conventional 4 lane intersection in return for a very small savings in build cost.

When you create the blueprint there is a checkbox for tiles (i.e. landfill). However, I think it will only include the landfill tiles that are currently in the blueprint area. So unless you construct whatever blueprint you are trying to add landfill to entirely on water, you may run into cases where it won't be right.
