Aug 11, 2012 · Our machine is an 'all factory' 2009 Ranger 700 EFI HD. The 'HD' designation means that it comes with power steering, a dump bed and an self-leveling system on the rear axle. Guaranteed the garbage plastic sprague that holds the rollers in to engage the 4wd is either broken or cracked. You won’t be able to tell if it’s cracked until you pull the sprague and squeeze it to see they are detached. Get an aluminum sprague cage and be done with it.

If your Ranger shifts fine except when you park on a hill and then you can't get it out of park the problem is the parking pawl won't release because of the pressure applied to it from being parked on a hill. I then took that cover off to make sure the roller hadn't come off the pawl arm and that the spring pushing against the arm was still there and complete.

One thing is you don't put a 20 amp fuse in a 10amp spot because a fuse is a circuit Protector and puting a 20 in a 10 would damage whatever is on that circuit. You should've put in a 10 amp fuse and not a 20 Amp fuse then you would've not had a problem.
